Warner Bros. recently released the debut trailer for their upcoming rhythm game LEGO Rock Band, and it’s looking very interesting indeed!
The game merges two popular franchises, combining the multiplayer music experience of Rock Band and the accessibility, customization and humour or LEGO games, hoping to deliver a family-friendly music experience as gamers set out to “Build a Band and Rock the Universe.”

The game includes different difficulty modes, ranging from Super Easy to Expert, and can be played using Rock Band instruments as well as other music game controllers. Players can customize their avatars, band members, instruments, rock den and even their roadies and managers. As you complete songs and challenges, you will collect LEGO studs, unlock additional content (including new venues, characters and instruments) and build vehicles to move your band around.
LEGO Rock Band includes a selection of current hits and classic favourites including Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back,” Foo Fighters’ “Breakout”, Vampire Weekend’s “A-Punk”, “Song 2” from Blur, Carl Douglas’ “Kung Fu Fighting”, Europe’s “The Final Countdown”, “Boys and Girls” from Good Charlotte and Pink’s “So What.”
Check out the LEGO action in this debut trailer, before casting your eyes further down for a few screenshots of the game.
Currently in development for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and DS, LEGO Rock Band is scheduled to be available “holiday 2009.” Traveller’s Tales and Harmonix are handling development duties for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii versions of the game while BackBone Entertainment join the two developers for the DS version.
