Two new DS titles, Kindgom Hearts 358/2 and Ace Attorney: Miles Edgeworth, debuted in the top two spots of the Japanese software chart yesterday, selling 295 000 and 172 000 copies respectively. The software sales, which have been lackluster of late, seemed to have boosted the hardware side of things, which have also been flagging over the past few weeks. The DSi dominates with 65 537 units, almost twice as many as last week, and roughly double that of the PSP which comes in second place with 32 251 units.
The Wii overtakes the PS3, despite the fact that no Wii titles made it into the Top 10 this week and two PS3 games debuted at numbers 4 and 8 respectively. Sales of the Wii are slightly up from last week with 17 810 units while the PS3 does experience a slight sales bump but only manages to sell 12 427 units.
The last three consoles on the chart all sell marginally more this week, with the DS Lite at 7 419, the Xbox 360 at 4 857 and the PS2 with 4 120 units.
