A new DOOM title will be winding its way onto the iPhone and iPod Touch next week in the form of DOOM: Resurrection from id Software and Escalation Studios.
DOOM: Resurrection is an entirely new entry to the DOOM universe, but using lower resolution assets from 2004’s DOOM 3 to create a ‘next-generation,’ fully 3D iPhone game. The title isn’t a port or a remake, as Wolfenstein on the iPhone was before it, but has been built from the ground-up for Apple’s mobile devices. The game apparently contains eights levels and a promise of five hours of gameplay, as the events that play out run parallel to those in the original DOOM 3.
